It was founded by three young women entrepreneurs who were still pursuing their university education in the USA. Curl IQ has a built-in hair recognition technology that offers a personalized and simplified experience for women with textured hair, making it easier for them to find hair care products that cater to them.
Different types of hair require different types of solutions. When a user clicks a photo through a smart device and shares it to Curl IQ, it will identify the person’s unique texture and hairstyle with the help of Artificial Intelligence technology. Depending upon the type and texture of the hair, the customer will be provided with the best hair product recommendations, styling tips and personalized hair care guidance. This platform also offers a great marketing opportunity for hair care brands to popularize their line of products among customers. Brands can integrate this real-time hair analysis tool to deliver more value for their clients.
How It All Started
When the client approached us with the idea we happily grabbed the opportunity and started our initial stage discussions. Webdura was assigned the task to develop a responsive and highly efficient mobile application for Curl IQ. The client wanted to have a fast performing application with simple navigation so that the users can easily understand the idea and take appropriate action without delays.

After many rounds of interactive sessions with the client team, Webdura did a thorough analysis of the project requirements and documented the needs. Our team which consists of enthusiastic and passionate resources were all set to take up the real challenge. During the development phase, AI implementation was found to be a bit challenging as there are plenty of AI service providers in the market and it is not easy to find the right one that suits our requirements. However, we confidently moved forward with testing many of the AI providers until we found the perfect one.
